Buying directly from the author (hey, that's me!) is always gonna support me the most. Honestly though, if you just buy the book at all I'm gonna give a lil squeal, so I totally get if you need or want to buy from somewhere else!

If I listed out aaaallllll the places the book is available, we'd be here for a while, so here's the biggies, and if you're looking for somewhere else, go hit that "View All Retailers" button to see more!

In a kingdom drowning in blood, there is always a dark side.

Inspired by various works of Edgar Allan Poe, BTGW is a standalone adult gothic romantasy brimming with rare magic, treacherous romance, and dark opulence.

eBook Preorders are now live on my shop, and on all major eBook retailers. Scroll up and click the "view all retailers" button to preorder from your preferred retailer.

In My Shop (Physical) - I am not currently planning to offer signed preorders due to scheduling conflicts around release day (I'll be travelling). I will be offering them after release though.

Retailers (Physical) - retailers require the final formatted book to be able to put it up for preorder (without issues), so those won't be up until September. See the next FAQ for more info on this.

Join the update list to be the first to know when they're ready!

I will not be offering signed preorders here in the shop this time, unfortunately. I will be travelling in the time around release day and won't be able to get them packed and shipped in a timely manner.

As far as retail physical preorders, I cannot put up physical preorders on retailers until the book is finalized and formatted. So, those will be up closer to release day, likely sometime in early September.

As another note, I cannot guarantee that Amazon will honor preorders through them, especially for hardcovers, or if they will say they're suddenly "unavailable" on release day.

Amazon does not like coordinating with IngramSpark and this has happened to MANY indie authors in the past year or so, and it is entirely out of our control.

If you are able, I highly, highly recommend preordering your physical copy (especially hardbacks) from literally anywhere else besides Amazon.

I will! I will be announcing ARC information soon, so the best way to find out is to follow me on Instagram or subscribe to my newsletter.

PR boxes are still being determined, but if I do offer them, they will be on an invitation only or giveaway basis.

Imagine if I took one of those fancy "collected works of Edgar Allan Poe" giant brick books and tossed it into a blender along with the vibes of Van Helsing (2004 movie), and the weirdness of my own brain. That's BTGW.

It is not a retelling of any particular Poe story, though you will likely see the most elements pulled from Masque of the Red Death.

I also want to say that I did pull from more obscure Poe works, so you may not recognize some of the references, and you may find that some of the references you were hoping for from more popular works are not present.

At the end of the day, this is a unique story that has elements from Poe stories that I pulled in to make myself smile.

I'm a Poe nerd, so this was a fun project for myself, and not an intent to make it an easily recognizable thing, like the Fall of the House of Usher TV series for example.

Beyond Those Gilded Walls is an adult gothic fantasy romance.

Due to mature content (both romance and other themes), I don't recommend it for anyone under 18.

If you call this book young adult, our main man is going to come for you in your nightmares. Don't do it.

Yes! There are no plans to continue this story at this time. This book is fully self-contained and has a HEA.

That said, this will be the first in a series of standalones that explore the gods of Veressia. These will not be interconnected standalones, but true standalones that do not need to be read in order.

Odyssa and Tallon will not make appearances in future books.

Yes, unlike my other books, this one does have much more explicit spice and has multiple scenes.

I'd rate it a 6-7 on the wonderful Jenny Hickman's 10 point Romantic Content Rating Scale (RCRS).

There is the potential that I may be cooking up something special for physical orders here in the shop after release day.

That said, I'm not currently in talks with anyone to do special editions for BTGW.

If any box is interested in doing special editions of BTGW, please reach out to my agent at subrights@browerliterary.com.

I hope so! But an audiobook producer would have to be interested in buying the rights first, so it's not really up to me.

Ultimately, if no publisher decides to buy the rights for the audiobook, I will likely pursue getting it produced myself, but this is a large upfront cost (approximately $3k minimum for transparency) and it would likely be a while before I'm able to afford it.

Eventually, I hope so! My translation rights are now handled by my agent, and foreign translations are driven by demand.

If you want BTGW in your language, let your local publishing houses know!
